Arkansas State University-Newport today announced that student Aaron Gatewood has been named a 2017 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar and recipient of a $1,000 scholarship.

Arkansas State University in Newport will hold an AARP safe driver course for drivers aged 55 and over on Friday, September 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Walton Hall, room 134 on the Newport campus at 7648 Victory Boulevard in Newport.

More than 260 Arkansas State University-Newport students were named to the Chancellor’s or Vice-Chancellor’s lists for academic excellence for the Spring 2017 semester, the college announced Tuesday June 27, 2017.

Arkansas State University-Newport at Marked Tree hosted 80 High School Students from 12 high schools throughout Northeast Arkansas to compete in one of three competitions: Automotive Service Technology, Collision Repair & Refinishing Technology and Computer & Networking Technology.
