Patient Care
Overview
From Certified Nursing Assistant to Patient Care Technician, ASU-Newport's Patient care programs combine classroom instruction and clinical training with strong emphasis on technical skills, professional relationships, and workplace ethics. Our goal for all students is to function and participate as an effective member of the healthcare community and to support clients in the achievement of positive healthcare outcomes.
This program is not eligible for Financial Aid.
To be considered for the CNA program, an applicant must complete the following:
1. Official transcripts from High School or GED Program
2. Proof of two (2) MMR immunizations
3. Proof of a current Tetanus immunization
4. Proof of a current TB skin test
5. Proof of a current Influenza vaccination
6. Background Check (administered in the program)
7. Urine Drug Screen (administered in the program)
Length of Program: 7-8 weeks
Campus Availability: Newport, Jonesboro, Marked Tree
Course Availability: Fall, Spring & Summer
