Phi Theta Kappa welcomes 17 new members

The Beta Nu Gamma Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Arkansas State University-Newport is proud to announce the induction of 17 new members. At a ceremony held on March 12, 2019, ASU-Newport’s PTK chapter recognized new members who met all criteria to enter the organization.

PTK is an international honor society focused on academic achievement at two-year colleges. Students must maintain a 3.5 GPA and complete at least 12 hours of credit. The organization encourages student growth and development through leadership and service programs. It is the largest honor society in American higher education.

The newly inducted members are Tiarra Adams, Twilla Blankenship, Melissa Blanton, Bailey Burns, Eryn Coy, Lauren Dixon, Betty Irene Hunt, Jillian Keedy, Angelica Lara, Dale Marr, Amanda Perez, Corlantez Porter, Hope Ray, Rebecca Roberts, Sayra Rodriguez, Kayla Slinkard and Erin Uchubilo.

Following the ceremony, new officers were also elected.

ASUN’s PTK chapter was recently named a 2019 REACH Chapter. This designation was awarded to chapters that achieved or exceeded a 15% membership acceptance rate in 2018 and excel at membership development.
