New Student Orientation is your opportunity to connect with ASU-Newport staff, meet fellow students, learn more about campus resources, and get ready for your first semester. Before you attend, make sure you’ve completed the important steps needed to start your ASUN experience on the right foot.
Registration for New Student Orientation is currently closed and will reopen before
fall of next year.
Have You Completed the FAFSA?
Make the most of your orientation session, by completing the 2026-2027 Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). ASUN’s school code is 042034.
Have You Applied for Admission?
Before you Sign up for a New Student Orientation (NSO) session, please apply for admission
to ASU-Newport.
Have You Submitted the Required Documents?
After your admission application is complete, please verify that all your required documents have been submitted to Admissions.
- Final High School Transcript
- College Entrance Scores (ACT, SAT, ACCUPLACER)
- Shot Records
- College Transcripts – if you have attended college before

New Student Orientation FAQs
Is a student orientation session mandatory?
New Student Orientation sessions are highly encouraged for all first-time entering
students. Students will be able to get their class schedule, student id cards, learn
about resources for student success, academic support resources, and much more!
How long are the sessions?
Sessions are approximately two (2) hours).
What do I wear to orientation?
Dress comfortably! Participants will have the option to take a tour of the campus.
Can I bring loved ones with me to the New Student Orientation session?
Yes! Absolutely! We welcome loved ones: they are a part of your support team!
