Nursing (LPN to RN Transition Pathway)

Associate of Applied Science

Program Overview

The Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (LPN to RN Transition Pathway) provides a pathway for licensed practical nurses (LPNs) to become registered nurses (RNs). The program builds on the foundational nursing skills of LPNs, covering advanced topics such as medical-surgical nursing, pharmacology, and mental health nursing. Students learn to assess patient conditions, develop care plans, and administer medications. The curriculum includes clinical experiences in various healthcare settings, providing hands-on training in patient care. Graduates are prepared to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) and work in diverse healthcare environments, such as hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities. The program emphasizes critical thinking, clinical judgment, and patient advocacy, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to meet the challenges of the nursing profession.
