ASU-Newport & St. Bernards Announce Work Partnership
NEWPORT, Ark. — Arkansas State University-Newport and St. Bernards Medical Center are partnering to connect individuals facing barriers to employment with free workforce training and employment opportunities in Northeast Arkansas.
Through the program, participants can complete a five-week training course at the ASU-Newport Jonesboro Campus and receive $100 per week upon completion of the training. Participants will also have the opportunity to gain employment with ASU-Newport's workforce partners, including St. Bernards Medical Center, while building skills that can lead to future career and educational opportunities.
The program is designed to help participants take the first step toward employment while also creating a pathway to continued education and career advancement. Training may include OSHA 10, CPR and WorkKeys preparation.
