ASUN Announces Third Annual Aviator Classic Golf Tournament
NEWPORT, Ark. — Arkansas State University-Newport (ASUN) will host the Third Annual Aviator Classic Golf Tournament on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Newport Country Club. Proceeds from this year's tournament will support student professional development.
The four-person scramble will bring together golfers, local businesses and community supporters for a day of golf, food and friendly competition—all while helping educational experiences more accessible to students throughout the region.
“The Aviator Classic is an opportunity for our community to enjoy a great day together while investing directly in our students,” said Ike Wheeler, Interim Chancellor of ASU-Newport. “Professional development can enrich a student's experience in valuable ways, while exposing them to new opportunities that have direct impacts on their future educational and career journey. We are grateful to everyone who participates and helps open those doors.”
Check-in will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.
Registration is $500 per four-person team, and cash prizes will be awarded in each flight. Space is limited, and teams are encouraged to register early.
