Emergency Medical Technology

About the Degree

ASUN Jonesboro’s certificate of proficiency in Emergency Medical Technology program meets the requirements of the Arkansas Department of Health Division of Emergency Medical Services. Completion of the program will allow the student to take the National Certification Exam at their level of training. Criminal background checks are required for all EMT students prior to testing.

Graduates of the EMT program have secured jobs with many companies locally and out of town. Companies such as ambulance services including air, hospitals, and some industries are looking for qualified EMTs as well as police and fire agencies. Some graduates have continue to work on their education and earned their paramedic certification.

Financial aid may be available through Career Pathways, if certain criteria are met (income level and dependent children).
