"It's Better To Have It And Not Need It, Than To Need It And Not Have It!"

We all have those moments in our lives when it comes to “Needs” and “Haves.”  Do we really need that new car?  Or is it simply something we just have to have because we want it?  Situations like this can sometimes lead us to crossroads in our decision-making processes.

However, when it comes to getting a college education, sometimes the “Haves” can far outweigh the “Needs”.  Take ASUN’s High Voltage Lineman Technology Program, for example. Receiving a Technical Certificate in ASUN’s HVLT program puts our students on a pathway from the classroom to the workforce in just under a year.  Students who graduate from this program can expect to have annual salaries starting around $40-42K a year.   That’s a great starting salary!  And, most of our graduates immediately go to work for electric companies and cooperatives upon graduation.  These types of companies provide good salaries, benefits and stability for a long and successful career in this field.

But, what happens when you’re a lineman, and you get to the point where you no longer want to work in the field, work those demanding hours, and are looking take your career to the next level?  Wouldn’t it be great to already have another degree “in your back pocket” in addition to your Technical Certificate?  If you want to become a foreman, get into management, or simply make more money at your job, that additional degree puts you ahead of others in your workplace.

An Associates Degree in Applied Sciences with ASUN’s High Voltage Lineman Technology program does just that.  In 10 months to a year, you can get the training and certification you need to start a great career, and in just one additional year, you can graduate with an Associates Degree that will benefit you even more in the future.

So, as the old phrase says, “Isn’t it better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it?”  We can help you plan for your future by giving you the tools you can have now, so you can use them later when you truly need them.  Let us help you plan for your successful future at ASUN.  Go to: https://www.asun.edu/programs/high-voltage to learn more about this highly successful program and how it can help you get started on a great and long-lasting career!
