Lifelong Learning

Overview

Arkansas State University-Newport offers a variety of Lifelong Learning Classes.  All of our classes are designed for community members.  All sessions are open to anyone in our community.

Lifelong Learning classes focus on personal enrichment. AARP Driver Safety Classes, Computer Basics Classes for Senior Adults, and Baby Sitting Basics for tweens and teens are representative of the many courses offered to the public at a nominal fee.

Summer 2018 Classes

Car Capable - July 12 and 19
Arkansas State University-Newport will offer a “Car Capable” basic automobile maintenance and light repair class on its Marked Tree campus this summer. The course will run from 8:00 a.m. until noon, and will offer instruction on the basics of car maintenance and care. This training will take place in our modern air-conditioned training facility at ASU-Newport in Marked Tree.

We will cover:

  • Lube Oil and Filter
  • Suspension and Steering
  • Auto Body Maintenance
  • Roadside Emergencies
  • Tires
  • Electrical
