The Arkansas State University-Newport Learning Center is located in the Harryette M. Hodges and Kaneaster Hodges, Sr. Library inside Walton Hall. The Learning Center has three labs, each of which has 25 state-of-the-art computers. Free printing services are also available in each lab. Also, the Learning Center provides a free tutorial service in math and writing as well as study software which can be accessed for a variety of subjects including math, science, history and writing. The Learning Center also has access to online practice and study exams in the areas of CDL truck driving, nursing prep, PRAXIS, ACT and SATs.
If you have any questions or suggestions please contact the Director of the Learning Center whose office is adjacent to the computer labs.
- Computers are for educational use only. ASUN students have priority over other users.
- Internet access is limited to one hour if other students are waiting to use the computer.
- Please ask if you need assistance with anything. We are here to help if we can. We will not, however, do the work for you.
- Please conserve paper. If our supplies our depleted due to waste, we will have to implement a policy of charging per page or you will have to ask staff for the exact number of sheets of paper you need.
- Downloading is permitted only for information for class use. PLEASE ask for assistance before downloading. You may know how to download correctly, but each workstation has different quirks and requirements!
- Chat groups and games are not allowed.
- Anyone found not adhering to the above policies is subject to losing lab privileges.
