I’m Michael Smith and I serve the Tuckerman and McCrory School Districts. I’m a certified Career Development Facilitator, and I’m here to help you have a successful future.
I grew up in Tuckerman, Arkansas, an alumnus of the Tuckerman High School Class of 2008. After graduating high school, I attended Arkansas State University-Newport where I received my Associate of Arts Degree in August 2009. Once I completed my studies at ASU-Newport, I continued my studies under the Radio-Television program at Arkansas State University, graduating in May 2011 with my Bachelor of Science Degree Radio-Television Degree, Broadcast Journalism.
While in college, I served as the ASUN Student Government Association Vice President and President, and was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society, as well as the Undergraduate Research Association of Arkansas State University. I was also a member of the ASU-TV program, where I contributed news, weather and other reports to the ASU-TV Newscast and Network.
I’ve previously worked in a variety of occupations as either a Substitute Teacher within the Jackson County School District, a programmer/producer for KNBY-KOKR-Newport, and an employee within the Admissions Office at Arkansas State University and the Student Affairs/Financial Aid Office at ASU-Newport. I’m a charter member of the Trails to Tuckerman Historical Society, as well as Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Theta Kappa, and Kappa Tau Alpha.
When I’m not working, you can find me inside a movie theater catching the latest release, bowling or listening to me ramble on and on about some ridiculous topic or current event.
