I am a lifelong resident of Newport and a 1998 graduate of Newport High School. After graduating from high school, I attended Arkansas State University. In 2002, I graduated from ASU with a degree in Sport Management and Physical Education.
I serve as a Career Facilitator and I’m responsible for the support of students who desire help in preparing for today’s demanding workforce environment. I serve the students in the Newport School District.
I have extensive knowledge in career and college planning, career assessments, financial aid opportunities, scholarship and resume writing, interview skills, and ACT and Compass preparation.
In addition I have already begun to see progress in his students with increased scholarships, ACT scores, graduation rates, and college enrollment.
Prior to joining ASUN, I worked for several minor league sports franchises including the Arkansas Travelers, Mississippi Seawolves and in 2005 Pearce became a “World Champion” as I served as the Director of Ticket Sales with the NBDL’s Arkansas RimRockers. There I helped to shatter Alltell Arena’s basketball attendance records. I’ve also served as the color commentator and play by play broadcaster for Newport Greyhound athletics as well as serving as the Coordinated School Health Director for the Newport School District.
I’m married to my wife, Shannon. In my spare time, I enjoy coaching, playing golf and basketball as well as teaching my daughter, Macayle the dance to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”.
“I’m excited about my position as a career facilitator because of the opportunity that I have to make a difference in the lives of the students in my own community and school district. Now, I can guide someone to achieve something, which at one time they felt was unattainable. My past successes and failures will help me as I work with these students to realize that nothing in life is impossible.”
