What is NSO?

Classroom

New
Student
Orientation!

As a NEW freshman or transfer student you will be required to attend an NSO.

Why?

Because it helps you transition from an individual to a successful ASUN student.

It only takes a morning or an afternoon. You can select the date, time, and campus most convenient for you.

Now here’s what to expect:

Staff & faculty presentations that will familiarize you with ASUN’s expectations of you, and what you can expect from ASUN. We want to let you know how we do things. We also want to let you know what you can expect from us -- HELP! We ask that you bring someone who supports your decision to attend ASUN. We will have activities for them as well. The purpose of NSO is to show you that you can’t do it alone. It takes all of us working together to help you succeed.

You will meet Student Affairs professionals and faculty members. You will have quick and easy access to departments that can answer burning questions about admission; enrollment; and paying for college.

Admissions (Did I give you guys my shot record?)

Financial Aid (So I completed the FAFSA… now what?)

Business Office (Do you guys take plastic?)

Academic Advisors (What classes should I take?)

Registration (And just what is a Portal anyway?)

At the end of the morning or afternoon, you will be presented with your ASUN Student ID card. You will have your courses scheduled. You will be ready to go when classes start. You will be an ASUN STUDENT!
